Weekly Update :)

Well here I am for my weekly update! It's getting a lot easier to do this....I'm getting the hang of getting on the computer and keeping up with Lorelai at the same time! Right now she is asleep in her bouncy seat....no shocker there, she loves that seat!

All is well here, another week down. We made it through 1/2 of Erick's super crappy shifts so, only one week to go and he's back on days again! I'm excited for several reasons...one he'll have shorter days so he'll be around a bit more, he'll be home in the evening, which is Lorelai's least favorite time of day, and I'll be that much closer to going to Utah to introduce Lorelai to my family and be with them for the Christmas holiday!

What else? Tomorrow is Halloween, and we're going to our Ward's Halloween party. I'm pretty excited...we decided to go with Lorelai's costume and be a family of honey bee's. I'll make sure to get some pictures so that I can post them and you all can see us all in our costumes.

Anyway...here are the pics for this week...sorry my camera strap got in the way of two of them. And I'm gonna try to post a video of Lorelai playing in her crib. It's a short one, but I figured perfect for a trial run!

Love,
Jen

PS~ The outfit next to Lorelai is one of her preemie outfits she fit into when she was first brought home...just as a comparison for how much she has grown!!

6 weeks and doing great!!

Lorelai is 6 weeks old today and I feel great!! Seriously...she smiled at me this morning like 3 times during her breakfast, and we went out for a morning hot-coco with some neighbors, then we came home and played with Daddy for a little while before we sent him off to work....and I honestly feel the best that I've felt in like.....11 months!! :) I finally feel like completely normal now....and it feels great :)

Nothing new except that Lorelai is growing like a weed...I'll get some pictures on here from her sixth week of life. Erick has started his shift work this week, which I was completely terrified for but has actually ended up being pretty normal and easy to adjust to. Its nice having him here in the morning for a little while, and it's easier for me to have Lorelai be awake until midnight or so because well...she keeps me company, even though she's little and doesn't talk to me :) Erick will be on this shift work stuff for 8 weeks and then he graduates from ELT school and we move on to our next phase of life in the Navy. I'm here for another 5 weeks and then I head off to Utah to spend December with my family, and I'm really looking forward to it. And as soon as we find out where we're being stationed we will spread the news. Pray for Hawaii!! :)

Erick's Dad come in for a visit this weekend so..that will be nice. He can't wait to see Lorelai and I'm glad he's taking the opportunity to come down because, though we would really really like to, we're not sure if we're going to make it to New England to see all of our dear ones up there before we head off.

Anywhoodle...here are some pictures!! There is one of L in her Halloween costume ( she loves it, can't u tell! ) and then some more of her really holding her head up, and some of her just playing with her baby gym.

Until later!!

5 Weeks old!!

Well we made it through another week! It gets easier by the week...it actually almost feels normal to have her around. She's getting a bit more predictable and easier to read. She smiled today and yesterday, not totally at something I've done, when I try to hard she usually just looks at me with this " what is this crazy lady doing" look on her face, but definitely more than just that reflexive 'gas' smile. It will be any day now I'm sure, she'll actually smile at something Erick or I am doing.

Anyway...here are some pics for the week...one of her sleeping cause she's so cute, another couple of her lifting her head off the ground, and then on from her bath cause she's adorable.

Until later

4 Weeks Old!!!

Well Lorelai is 4 weeks old today!!! I honestly can't believe that she has been in our life for 4 weeks! I guess it's actually been longer then that, as Erick pointed out last night, she's really been a part of our lives for 10...almost 11 months, in thought at least. But...having her here and caring for her every need is definitely a bit different then having her inside of me for 9 months.

This week has been better for me.....beginning to feel a bit more normal to have her around. Still challenging as ever...I'm sure my mom is sick of hearing from me twice a day every day with questions about feeding and sleeping and stuffy noses and getting enough stimulation or getting on a routine bla bla bla... :)

I'm thinking about stopping breastfeeding. I know there is a lot of mixed opinions on this...I've already gotten both sides from my mom and my sister-in-law :) I'm gonna stick it out for 2 more weeks ( my 6 week checkup) and see if I still feel the way I do now but...we'll see I guess!

So here are some pics from yesterday.... a few of her trying to suck her thumb, some in her chair and a few of her stretching :)

TTFN!

1st Week by myself

Well...I've made it through one week by myself! And boy...it really wasn't easy!! I loved having my mom here, and was so sad to see her go...but I really didn't expect last week to be as hard as it was. It's a hard job having a new born...just adjusting to having to care for someone else beside myself for 24 hours a day is a lot. Trying to get her into a semblance of a routine while having totally disrupted my own has really been a shock to my system. She's a good baby too...I'm super blessed to have such a happy, healthy baby. She does have her fussy moments like every other child but overall, she's a really good kid. I've been struggling a little in general....man those hormonal changes after pregnancy are really a doozy! I miss my husband like crazy when he is gone, which I think is the hardest part, but I'm working through it. I know that if I can keep relying on my Heavenly Father, and give myself time to adjust, everything will fall into place.

Anywhoodle...I have a few pictures. The ones of Lorelai in her crib are on her 3 week birthday. And the there are a few of Erick and her from this weekend.

Love you all! Until later!
