I know..another contest really? :)

I'm an addict, officially. :) Yes...another contest. This one is super relevant to me lately though, because I was actually going through my wedding/ honeymoon pictures just a few days ago, looking for cute pictures to re-do my blog header with! Now I have an actual reason to post a bunch of pictures my family has already seen ( since they're the prominent readers of this blog...for now :))

As far as my wedding story goes...the whole thing is a little long and involved, so let me try to condense it to the most important parts!

I'd know my husband for about 4 years when he told me he was going into the Navy. We'd always had a weird relationship, him claiming to be in love with me and me continually blowing him off...at least romantically. He was my best friend and was there for me in every other way I would let him be, he just....wasn't who I saw myself with for eternity. :)

Anyway...I eventually came around ( with a lot of guidance from Heavenly Father) and we officially started "dating" ( as much as you can date over the phone) right after he graduated from boot camp. He was in SC going to Nuclear Power School, and I was in Utah just working and living with my parents. Well, "dating" didn't need to last that long since we'd known each other for a fairly long time, and after about a month of that I suggested we get married. He was a bit shocked needless to say, he'd been joking about me marrying him for over the last year, but it had always been a joke and nothing more. Now the game was on and he knew I was serious. :)

I had already scheduled a trip out to SC to visit him in about a month, so we decided that then was as good as ever! So I had a month to plan some sort of wedding! I made my dress, he checked out places. We wanted to do a beach wedding, but it rained on the day we got married so we actually got married in the gazebo in the middle of The Battery in down town Charleston. My parents, younger brother and his wife and child, and grandmother all made it out. The Hubs had some friends from school, his twin brother, his mom, step dad and half sister, as well as his step sister and her husband who actually lived in SC. Overall there was only about 20 people there, and we ended up having a "reception" meal at the local Olive Garden before we headed up to Myrtle Beach for a super quick weekend honeymoon, because he had to report to school on Monday morning. And thus began this crazy life in the Navy for me.

It's been a whirlwind of almost 3 years for us...since then we've added two children to our little family, have made it through 2 years of Nuc School and have completed our first year at a sea command, looking ahead to our first deployment in the not too distant future.

So that's my wedding story in a nutshell. :) Here are some pics for your veiwing pleasure:

until next time,
